Oliveology and Lida Papamatthaiaki

Join Oliveology and Lida Papamatthaiaki on Saturday 1st of June for our Summer Vegetarian Cooking Workshop and Wine Tasting.

June’s cooking workshop is honouring the Great Greek Summer! Greek summer is so much more than a season; it’s a state of mind. The abundance of fresh produce, the vibrant colours and flavours, eating al fresco! Going to food markets during this time of the year makes you blissfully happy -and fills you with dilemmas: strawberries or peaches, aubergines or artichokes?

Join our summer cooking workshop and let us take you to a glorious Greek island hopping. Cheeses from Naxos, rusks from Crete, wines from Tinos, mastiha from Chios and many more! Lida, our resident chef and anthropologist–an island girl herself- will share some of her secrets to enjoy a flavourful summer.

At the course, which costs £110.00 for 5 hours, you will taste unique ingredients (incl. tasting of various olive varieties), prepare and cook a seasonal menu of 5 recipes, which has been put together by Lida Papamatthaiaki. You will participate in every step, from prepping ingredients to cooking and plating and learn basic cooking skills. The dishes will be paired with a tasting of four wines from the Greek islands.

Each recipe will use seasonal, mostly organic produce and of course, oliveology products. You will also receive a 10% discount voucher for oliveology and our products.

Sample menu:

– Dakos salad (the classic, and seasonal variations)
– Feta saganaki with mastiha & Aegina pistachios
– Imam baildi
– Ladenia from Kimolos island (the guests can personalise their own)
– Fava with caramelised onions
– Aubergine dip with tahini
– Yogurt dessert with summer fruit

At the end of the workshop we all sit around the table and share the food we’ve made!
