💚It’s Oliveology’s 14th birthday! 💚
It only feels like yesterday when Marianna first started selling just organic olive oil, olives & raw honey at our stall at Borough Market.
Over the years as our small business grew, our small team evolved. The main highlight has certainly been when little Harry came along, the youngest member and joy of the Oliveology family 💚
We are proud to be the only organic Greek grocery shop at Borough Market’s diverse food community. We are also proud to have our headquarters in one of the many railway arches nestled in Spa Terminus Bermondsey, alongside some of the best artisan food producers and wholesalers in the UK.
In this long journey, we are grateful to be surrounded by so many passionate and talented people: fellow traders at Borough Market and Spa Terminus; Greek producers who truly love food and nature; our diverse team with so many fantastic side-projects and interests.
The last year has been busy and exciting. Our shops at Borough Market and Spa Terminus became busier and busier and we were thrilled to see all of you again in person. We launched our new website, which we hope will make your online experience with us a more enjoyable one – but please pop by the shop as often as you can!
We had the joy of welcoming many chefs in our kitchen in Bermondsey who created amazing meals for their guests. Our very own Oliveology Catering was born, and we are proud to be able to offer colourful, wholesome dishes to you all. Thank you for choosing us to be part of your festive celebrations and intimate gatherings, and thank you to Nicholas & Alistair for selecting us to cater their amazing wedding last autumn. Over the last year we also hosted two wonderful dinners with our food anthropologist and chef Nafsika and Harry from Metaxa, and many exciting wine tastings with our wine connoisseur Maria.
Every summer we have a break, we rewind and plan the year ahead. We are determined to make Oliveology more sustainable, to keep bringing wholesome foods to you all, to reinvent our way of doing things and face any challenges ahead.
During all those years, our love for food and our deep need and desire to share the best Greek ingredients has kept us going. It is this passion and purpose that makes us wake up in the morning, and despite the many challenges of running a small business, the long hours and worries for the future, it is a life we wouldn’t trade with any other. Oliveology is our small business. But it is also our home, and we are always happy to come in every morning, unlock our doors, open our shops to you all and share the love that food brings.
