Not unlike 2021, this year has been a year of change for us at Oliveology. The world opened up after the pandemic and we all tried to find our new normal. We were delighted to be around friends again, to gather around the table and share food and wine. We met many of you in our cooking workshops, wine tastings and dinner experiences. We loved sharing our Greek food traditions and culture and our passion for food made with care and honesty. Thank you for joining us in all of our events and we hope to see you again – and more of you- as our gatherings continue in 2023.
During this last year we watched many small food businesses struggle and having to make tough decisions. Some decided to leave the world of food. Others to change course. Our own journey could not but take us closer to what we love: sharing food. We created Oliveology Catering and over the last few months we were really excited to be part of your important days: weddings, children’s birthday parties and family gatherings at home.
Once again, we’d like to thank all of you for your continued support and love. Your presence, messages, posts on social media and personal conversations at Borough Market and at Spa Terminus make us feel that all of our hard work has meaning.
Our team has been at the core of our operations and their excitement keeps us going, as we grow and evolve. Thank you to Jerry, Klaudia, Hubert, Benjie, Lauren, Frankie, Tess, Stef and Nafsika for always trying to take us one step further.
Our gratitude also goes to our small producers in Greece, who have been facing their own challenges, as the world entered another crisis in 2022. Their mission to create ethical food is one we share too. Our personal relationships with them over the years sustain and nourish us.
As we are getting ready to say goodbye to 2022 and welcome the New Year, we share many of your worries and anxieties about what seems to be a constantly changing world. What has kept us going all of these years? What will gives us the energy we need for the new year?
More than a decade ago, we created Oliveology because we cared for food that was made sustainably; for good food cooked at home, for reducing waste, and for building relationships with the people who produce and consume food around us. Over the years we have managed to survive many crisis by being part of our vibrant food community and being able to share parts of ourselves with all of you. This gives us strength to continue and celebrate the new year.
Thank you for being with us for another year and cheers to many more to come!
