Organic Grape Molasses (Petimezi)

This pure organic Grape Molasses, known as petimezi in Greece, is 100% natural with no additives or added sugar. It is made from Agiorgitiko grape must, concentrated in a condenser vacuum so as to preserve the special characteristics of the Agioritiko variety. It’s then reduced further to achieve the distinctive caramel tones. It carries the aromas of light honey and fresh grapes. Petimezi makes a great additive to baking, pancakes, porridge, in hot drinks instead of sugar, in dressings or used as a glaze for meat or poultry, even just over ice cream!

Tasting notes: Dark red colour with ruby highlights, pure aromas of sun-dried grapes, plums and spices. Very rich body, sweet taste with a hint of sourness and a long, sweet finish.
