2025 was a year of growth for us at Oliveology. Our team has grown and we are grateful to be surrounded by such talented and passionate individuals. We have sourced an early-harvest olive oil supporting a new small family farm in Olympia, in the Peloponnese. We have changed our olive oil packaging to more sustainable glass bottles that are more environmentally friendly and easier to recycle.
Mostly, we took time to refocus on what we love and value, and on what lies at the core of who we are. Throughout the year, we made a pledge to curate, and share with you a selection of foods that will be real; to focus on products with few, real ingredients. In our journey to real food, we source and bring you food that is clean of stabilisers, emulsifiers, sweeteners and words we can’t understand; food that is minimally processed; food that you could have made in your garden or kitchen. We have carefully selected only foods that are raw or minimally processed, with clear labels that provide you with all the information. Ultimately, we have managed to create an ultra-processed-food-free shop.
To do so, we choose to source foods from small producers and family farms, from people who share these values with us and refrain from using additives and preservatives in the foods they create. As such, we support local communities in rural areas in Greece, people whose livelihoods are affected by climate change, and by a food industry that is often consolidated, highly industrialised, without much care for nature and people. We do so to support and nourish our own bodies, to feed ourselves and the people we love with pure food. Clean ingredients, fermented foods, and natural flavours make us feel healthier, stronger, more focused, creative and alive; real food that makes us feel whole. In a world of constant change, where we all face growing challenges, the food we eat, and the choices we make when we shop and cook, are political, important and powerful.
So we want to ensure that when you come by Borough Market or when visiting our website, you will trust us to bring to you only clean, real food; that we will keep supporting family farmers and small producers in Greece; that we will all become part of the change we want to see in the food industry.
My personal growth aligns with these goals, as I focus on finding new ways to care for my body, my family and my team. I allow myself to be open to and embrace change, and to create a new path for Oliveology; to refocus our journey to what matters most -more about that soon! Food is care, nourishment and connection. It is my hope that 2026 will bring us closer to our values and give us the strength to move towards our goals.
May we all grow and flourish in 2026.
