Gavalas Santorini Blue Assyrtiko

The Gavalas Santorini is a crisp and well matured volcanic, dry white wine. In the glass it has a pale, straw-like colour, indicative of maturation. On the nose, this perfumed wine presents profoundly fruity aromas such as pear, lemon, pineapple and a hint of banana. It is a little flinty but this is soon overwhelmed by its dominating notes of nuts and honey, another hint of its ageing. It has a smooth, rich and fruity palate. It’s also one of the very few white wines that contain tannins, which are rather smooth and rounded. It’s full-bodied with a moderate alcohol level, finishing with a long and nutty aftertaste. A high quality classic Santorini Assyrtiko with high aging potential! An ideal accompaniment to seafood, white meat and light cheese.
